About 15 Baseball Place — Riverside Square Condos
Known for their work in both west end Toronto and east end Toronto, Streetcar Developments has been building modern condos and revamping neighborhoods since as early as 2002. Lately, they’ve set their sights set on overhauling the already popular Leslieville & South Riverdale neighbourhood, with an interest in transforming it into one of Toronto’s hottest residential areas. The development of Riverside Square, completed in 2019, will surely help them to achieve this goal.
Riverside Square, a 4.5 acre, 4 building project that is broken down into 3 phases — which includes renovating the historic Broadview Hotel. The development promises to be exciting and sophisticated, where residents can relax or utilize their great starting point to explore the city. Plans also include revitalizing pedestrian walkways, developing green-space along the Don Valley Parkway, and constructing cycling paths.
Riverside Square will feature a mix of modern mid and high rise condos, with unique geometric façades of glass and steel. 677 Queen Street East will also have plenty of luxurious amenities, including a spectacular rooftop deck with an infinity pool overlooking the downtown skyline, as well as concierge and security services, a party room, guest suites, garage parking, and an extensive gym.
The Suites
Making up one third of Riverside Square, the building at 677 Queen East will hold 252 units over 24 storeys. These range in size from around 1,000 to 1,200 square feet, and the suites will come in a variety of layouts, with anywhere from 1 to 3 bedrooms and 1 to 2 bathrooms each.
The suites at 677 Queen East boast 9-foot high, exposed concrete ceilings, hardwood floors, and plenty of windows for natural light and unobstructed views of downtown, Lake Ontario and the Don River. These condos also have designated laundry closets with tiled floors and stacked washer/dryer units.
The kitchens throughout will feature luxurious laminate cabinetry with under-cabinet lighting, stainless-steel integrated appliances, and polished stone islands or counters for dining. Bathroom countertops will feature similar finishes, but tiled floors replace hardwood in these spaces.
The Neighbourhood
Riverside Square is a neighborhood unto itself with green-space, shopping, dining, bike paths and more. But Toronto condos for sale here will already be in one of the city’s best neighbourhoods in terms of up-and-coming eateries and unique boutiques. Queen Street East is littered with plenty of renowned cafes and restaurants, while a more dense grouping of shops and vendors can be found nearby at St. Lawrence Market to the west, or TNT Supermarket down south.
In terms of night life, there are a number of exciting bars in the area, while several notable entertainment venues are also just a short trip away. For example, The Opera House, just down the street from 677 Queen Street East, is a great venue for concerts, while the Soulpepper Theatre presents classic and modern theatre performances. For a taste of Toronto history, residents can visit the nearby Distillery District, known for its old brickworks, artisan workshops and everyone’s favourite: the annual Christmas Market.
Several parks are close to 677 Queen Street East, including Joel Weeks Park, Corktown Common, Bruce Mackey Park, or the enormous Riverdale Park, with its own ice rink, baseball diamonds and dog park. And parents looking to move into Riverside Square will enjoy their pick schools nearby, such as St. Paul Catholic School, Riverdale Collegiate, Eastdale Collegiate, SEED Alternative School, Queen Alexandra Public School, and Degrassi Community School.
Transportation
Alongside proposed bike paths and pedestrian walkways, commuting and moving around will be a pleasure for residents who prefer motorized transit.
Thanks to its location right on Queen East, there are several TTC bus routes around the building, in addition to the streetcars available on Queen East, Dundas East, and Broadview Avenue. For motorists, the Don Valley Parkway is quite close to Riverside Square, and can be used to reach the Gardiner Expressway or the 401 in no time.
